Odyne Systems, LLC Wins 2014 Governor’s New Product Award

Odyne Systems LLC receives the 2014 Governor’s New Product Award. On June 4, 2015, the leader in medium- and heavy-duty trucks was provided the award by the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers, whose mission is to “support the ethical practice of Professional Engineering.”

The Best of State, First Place award in the small employment category was granted to Odyne in recognition of the company’s excellent development of its Plug-in Hybrid System for Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks and economic contributions to the state through engineering innovations. Back in January, the company was also featured in 2015 Ford Alternative Fuel Buyers Guide.

These innovations include plug-in hybrid electric systems that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%, improve acceleration, lower emissions, and provides for quieter operations at the work site. Additionally, the company can provide both heat and air conditioning to the cab without loafing the engine and waives the need for generators thanks to their large battery and exportable power systems.

John Petras, VP of Engineering and Principle Investigator Odyne Systems, LLC expressed his excitement stating, “Our team has a passion for innovation and delivery of reliable, advanced hybrid system solutions. This award reminds us of the daily contribution that our engineering team makes to support energy independence efforts and environmental initiatives.”

On a day-to-day, Odyne Systems, LLC stands as the leading manufacturer of hybrid systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Their advanced plug-in hybrid technology allows trucks over 14,000 pounds to have substantially lower emissions, improved performance, quieter job site operation, lower fuel consumption and reduced operating and maintenance costs.

Odyne has fielded more plug-in hybrid systems for large trucks throughout the United States than any other supplier. Their systems are modular and are integrated to powertrains during the new vehicle manufacturing process or are retrofit to existing truck chassis in various applications, providing flexibility to achieve your Green Fleet. The systems are sold and serviced through a worldwide distribution network including Altec and Terex Utilities.
