In 1917, the United States population was 101,961,000 people. A loaf of bread cost 7 cents, a postage stamp cost 2 cents, and the average price of a car was $400. It was also the year that the National Automobile Dealers Association was founded in Washington DC when a group of dealers joined forces to lobby Congress to reduce the 5% luxury tax on private cars. Fast forward 100 years, and Commercial Truck Trader is contributing to this rich history by attending NADA’s 100th annual conference and expo, January 27-29. We had a sleek and futuristic 20×20 booth in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana that contained 4 website demo stations and 2 meeting spaces that lead to some highly productive and engaging conversations. The expo itself featured more than 500 exhibitors and 23,000 attendees. There was also a series of 68 NADA Workshops to choose from, including a presentation from CTT’s very own Director of Strategic Initiatives, Charles Bowles, entitled ‘The Sale Begins Before You Meet The Prospect.’ Charles was even selected to present to a group of Brazilian auto dealers. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at #NADA100 and look forward to what next year’s meeting will bring!
