Construction equipment sales are still sluggish, particularly those related to the housing market. Leasing continues to be a bright spot in the equipment market, with the posting of consistent year-over-year increases.
Grain prices are helping to drive equipment sales in the agriculture sector. The sale of implements and zero-turn mowers are also showing nice growth in certain parts of the country.
In March, EquipmentTraderOnline.comdelivered nearly 5 million page views to its visitors. This voluminous amount of searches enables us to construct a good picture of market activity. Here are the top four searches by make for March 2012: (1) John Deere; (2) Caterpillar; (3) Kubota; and (4) Bobcat. Both construction and agriculture are well represented in the demand for equipment.
