The Los Angeles Times Blogs reports on a recent U.S. District Court ruling on the Port of Los Angeles’ Clean Truck Program.
The ruling states that the Port of Los Angeles can require trucks using the port to meet emission standards. The American Trucking Association had sued the port because they argued the new rules violated federal laws prohibiting states from regulating trucking.
Supporters of the new rules say the ruling gives ports the power to control their air quality standards.
