A trucker’s wallet thins as the price of gas rises. Getting the most out of every fill-up is even tougher when you add the problem of hot fuel.
Fuel expands in storage tanks when the temperature rises, changing how much fuel a trucker pays for at pump and what actually fills up the the tank. Many truckers feel they are getting ripped off when a full tank of gas shrinks as it cools.
The Kansas City Star reports that lawsuits have been filed in U.S. district courts in California and New Jersey over hot fuel sold by gas stations and oil companies.
