Auxiliary Power Units Cool Down Trucks, Tempers, and Fuel Costs

Normally you have to go to Vegas to lose a thousand bucks in five minutes. You can lose the same amount in New York State just as fast, for idling your truck engine for over five minutes. You don’t get access to a buffet or frequent flyer miles either.

To cut down on idling time, think about using an Auxiliary Power Unit, also called an APU.
APUs are devices that run air conditioning, lights, and other electronics when the engine is off. They cost about $9000, but many truckers find they more than pay for themselves.

Look on Truck Trader Online to see our inventory of trucks that have APUs. Do you have an APU in your truck? Tell us your story!
