Graffiti-busting truck cleans up buildings

If you are an artist who works with spray paint and uses private property for your canvas, this might be the time to take up watercolors.

In Chula Vista, California, vandals who spray paint buildlings are thwarted by an anti-graffiti truck.

The truck carries paint and a crew to places where spray-can Picassos have left their work. Using a spectrophotometer to determine the original color of the building, the crew mixes paint on the spot to cover up the scribbles.

Before this service, there were only certain shades of paint to cover up graffiti. Now the anti-graffiti truck can match paint exactly and respond to calls within 48 hours.

If vandals want to see their work last more than 48 hours, they should buy canvas and learn to paint “happy trees”.
